1/17/12 Pineapple, Spinach, Strawberry, Lime, Ginger, Orange.

Ingredients: One half pineapple, a handful of strawberries, two small oranges, one lime, one piece of ginger, alot of spinach.

Consistency: Thick, foamy, pulpy

Taste: The strawberry, orange, pineapple dominate the flavor. Deliciously sweet. The tang of the lime and the spice of the ginger is not overbearing, but adds balance to the sweetness. The spinach is not tasted.

Rating: 10/10

Closing notes: This is the best one that Ive made thus far. This time I got the ginger and lime proportions correctly. The finish on every sip was sweetly tangy after-notes of spicy ginger. Delicious!

1/9/12 Citrus Cocktail

Ingredients: One citrus cocktail(large), two small oranges, two small apples, four carrots, a large piece of ginger, one lime.

Consistency: Light, smooth, sparse pulp.

Taste: Sweet, tangy, delicious!

Rating: 10/10.

Closing notes: This morning, I would not settle for an elixir that was anything less than fantastic. At my market, they were selling "Citrus Cocktail" -- which is some kind of hybrid fruit that resembles a grapefruit. It tastes like a strange orange...not bad. This one was delicious, I enjoyed it thoroughly and highly recommend this recipe as a jump-start to your day. The color reminds me of those frozen Popsicles that we would get in elementary school awwww yeaaah.

1/8/12 Beet, Turnip, Celery, Carrot

Ingredients: Two small beets, with their extensive tops attached. 1/2 of a medium turnip, four carrots, some celery.

Consistency: Clean and clear, zero pulp.

Taste: Earthy, sweet, faintly bitter (turnip)

Rating: 7/10

Closing notes: A few notes here. If you are juicing turnip, do so sparingly. I do not particularly enjoy the flavor, and it is *very* strong. Beets also, the juice is not palatable when taken alone -- it must be mixed with something sweet. I used celery in this one to dilute the mixture, and carrot to add some sweetness. All in all, this was a success.

1/7/12 Cranberry, Celery, Spinach, Lime.

Ingredients: One complete celery plant (leafy bits included), two handfuls of fresh cranberry, lots of spinach, and two large limes.

Consistency: Thin and pulpy

Taste: Watery, sour, and bitter

Rating:5/10

Closing notes: This one was not planned out too well, but I received my dose of living nutrients and was satisfied. I would not consider re-creating this concoction ever again. However, the score was not low -- based on the fact that I was able to stomach the whole thing.

1/6/12 Cranberry,Purple Cabbage, Sand Pear, Lemon, Green Pear, Ginger.

Ingredients: Two handfuls of fresh cranberry, one small head of purple cabbage, two sand pears, one apple, one dose of ginger, two small lemons.

Consistency: Thin and without pulp.

Taste: Tart and spicy.

Rating: 4/10

Closing notes: This was not delicious. I drank it because I am trying to fight a cold.

1/5/12 Kiwi, Lemon, Lime, Apple, Pear

Ingredients: Three kiwi, two sand pears, one large green pear, two small apples, two small lemons, one large lime, one 4 inch piece of ginger.

Consistency: Medium thickness, pulpy, grainy

Taste: Acidic, sweet, spicy, bitter.

Rating: 5/10

Closing notes: I am just trying to destroy my cold. This was not pleasant to drink. It was not bad though, I recall many worse incidents in my life... like parsnip/cabbage (dry heaving).

1/5/12 A Cold Killing Machine

Ingredients: A crazy mixture of fresh cranberries, grapefruit, lemon, sand pear, ginger, apple, and carrot.

Consistency: Light and pulpy

Taste: Sweet, tangy, bitter, spicy.

Rating: 7/10

Closing notes: I may have went overboard with the ginger -- but in making this concoction I was more concerned with killing my cold than I was with taste. It went down smoothly, I will be adding Ginger and Lemon to my drinks more frequently. They are an amazing addition not only for antioxidants but also for flavor. In this mixture, the ginger left a pleasant burning sensation on my lips -- sweet, glorious, cold killing power. The pulp of ginger has a tendency to clog the pulp catcher of my juicer, so I always juice the ginger and the lemon first -- then I clean it out of my filter and go forward with the other plants.
